This was announced in a press statement signed by Mr. Deji Adeyanju, its National Coordinator. According to the statement, the venue of the sit-out, which begins at 9 a.m., is the Unity Fountain in Abuja. The London leg, which kicks off at 11 a.m. UK time, is scheduled to hold at the Abuja House.
“All participants are expected to be at the venue before 9am in Abuja and11am in London to demand for President Muhammadu Buhari’s return to Nigeria and to office or his resignation on the ground of incapacity to execute his functions as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the group said.
It added that its proposed action in accordance with the provisions of Section 40 of the Constitution, which guarantees the right to peaceful assembly.
“In exercise of that right, we have, therefore, written a letter to the Police and other relevant security agencies requesting for protection as we exercise our fundamental right as enshrined in the constitution,” the organization added.
President Buhari has been in London since 7 May receiving treatment for an obviously grave, but undisclosed ailment.
