Gov Umahi’s convoy kills 3 motorcycle riders in tragic accident
Three people from Ezza South Local Government Area lost their lives on Tuesday when the convoy of Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, crashed into their motorcycle.
Newsflash Nigeria reports that the incident happened on the Muhammadu Buhari’s International Airport road, where the victims were riding alone.
The convoy had just dropped Umahi at the airport in Onueke and was on its way back to town.
The accident took place shortly after Umahi and Prince Arthur Eze commissioned a flyover in Abaomege in Onicha local government area. The flyover was named after Eze.
Umahi left for Abuja soon after the commissioning ceremony.
Eze and the deputy governor of Ebonyi State, Eric Kelechi Igwe, stopped at the accident scene and sympathized with the families of the victims.
They also ordered that the victims be taken to hospital and then left for Enugu State.
The motorcycle and the Sienna car involved in the accident were badly damaged. The names of the victims and the registration number of the car have not been confirmed yet.
The Federal Road Safety Corps in Ebonyi State said they have not been informed about the accident.
