Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, on Sunday met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo privately in Abeokuta, the state capital over national issues.
Tambuwal, who arrived at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) Penthouse residence of the elder statesman around 1.30 pm, held a closed-door meeting with him.
According to Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo’s Special Assistant on Media, the former House of Representatives Speaker was accompanied to Obasanjo’s residence by some of his key aides.
The duo came out at about 2.40 pm and briefly hinted that the meeting was on national issues.
Neither Obasanjo nor his guests gave details of discussions during the meeting.
It was learnt that Tambuwal later took lunch with his entourage and headed for the mosque inside OOPL to observe salat (prayers) before leaving the complex.
