Reports have it that men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have this morning attacked a seminary in Jalingo, Tarara state. The attack leaves many of the students injured while a Catholic priest was shot in the leg. Cars parked in the seminar were destroyed during the attack.
The recent development was disclosed via a WhatsApp message by the Director of Caritas Nigeria, an agency of the Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Evaristus Bassey.
Father Bassey wrote:
“Please Frs, pray for us. Our minor seminary in Jalingo has just been attacked by the Fulani, some students are injured, some cars destroyed, two priests beaten and one shot on the leg. They are currently receiving treatment at FMC.”
Most of the injured students are currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Center in Makurdi.
This attack comes three weeks after two Catholic priests and 17 parishioners were killed in a similar attack by herdsmen during an early morning mass.
