Former Golden Eaglets star Samuel Kuchili has been confirmed dead by the management of Might Jets Football Club of Jos.
Might Jets who are in the Nigeria National League (NNL) confirmed the death of Kuchili who is their Technical Consultant.
The death was confirmed through a statement by the Club’s Media Officer, Mbum Ferdinand in Jos.
The statement read, “On a sad note, the Management of Mighty Jets Football Club of Jos has announced the passing on of the Club’s Technical Consultant, Samuel Kuchili, who died in hospital yesterday (Monday) after a brief illness.
“The Chairman of the Club, Chief Alex Wukari described the death of Kuchili as a rude shock but said God knows better as he alone decides when to give and when to take.
“Officials and Management of the Club condoles with the deceased’s immediate and extended family, and pray God gives them the fortitude to bear the loss.”
Kuchili was an attacking midfielder in his playing days and went on to feature for the Golden Eaglets at the 1997 FIFA U-17 World Cup under coach Fanny Amun.
He played for second-tier teams and Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) sides such as Adamawa United, Plateau United and Wikki Tourists of Bauchi.
