The saga between Happie Boys, a comedy duo who went viral for dancing while on duty as security guards at an eatery in Aba, and Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, the founder and general overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), has taken a new twist as a foreign doctor has offered to help the boys complete their studies in Cyprus.
The doctor, who identified himself as Dr Ochu Daniel Ogechukwu and Happie Boys , slammed the pastor for cursing the boys after they claimed that he stopped sending them money for their fees and upkeep.
He said that the pastor had no right to curse God’s creatures and that the money he used to sponsor them and his own children was from people’s tithes and offerings, not his personal resources.
He also accused the pastor of acting like a demigod and using people for his own fame and glory. He said that he hated to see people like that and vowed to make other connections for the boys.
Dr Daniel appealed to netizens who knew the boys to tell them to contact him, adding that he would hand them over to his friend, who is the personal physician to the president of Cyprus, to help them finish their education. He also hinted at other opportunities for them.
He wrote on his social media page:
“…Nobody has any right to place a curse on God’s creatures. (Read your Bible or Koran (Quran) very well). “How dare you curse your fellow human being?
“The money you are helping them with and feeding your own children from is not even your money. It’s church money donated by others through tithes and offerings. “Can you even give out your own 1 Naira to someone?
“I h@te to see people acting like demigods. “Please, if anyone knows these boys, tell them to reach us to me; let me hand them over to my friend, who is the Personal physician to the president of that country, to help tidy up their education coupled with other connections.
“If men were God… Hmmm.”
Newsflash Nigeria had earlier reported that Happie Boys had taken to social media to reveal that they had dropped out of school in Cyprus after six months because Apostle Chibuzor stopped sending them money. They also shared screenshots of their chats with him, where they begged him for financial assistance several times and he either ignored them or told them he had no money.
In response to their claims, Apostle Chibuzor released an audio clip that has gone viral online, where he expressed his anger and disappointment over the ingratitude and falsehood of the ex-security guards. He said that he did not forsake them, but they failed to meet up with the academic standards of the school and squandered the opportunity he gave them.
He also said that he did not owe them anything, as he sponsored them from his own pocket and from the generous donations of his church members, who could have used the money for other things. He said that he did not ask for anything in return from them, except to appreciate his kindness and excel in their studies.
He then cursed them, saying that they will never prosper in life, that they will suffer poverty and misery, and that they will sell the clothes he bought for them to feed themselves. He said that he did this out of the pain in his heart, as he felt betrayed by their evil actions.
His curse goes thus:
“I place this curse from the pain in my heart that doing good becomes evil. That whosoever, no matter who that person is, that I used…He didn’t pay one kobo, he didn’t spend one naira, it is from offering and tithe that people drop in the altar. What other pastors use in buying private jets, I say let me use it to help you.
“Now, I do you good, you use evil to pay me, you will remain poor forever. You can never achieve anything in life. As long as, whether anywhere you are, you will suffer poverty. You can never achieve. You can’t even buy one plot of land.
“If there’s other clothes you’ve bought through the money I used in sending you to Cyprus, you will sell those clothes to feed. You will become so wretched.”
