Female journalist vows to prove Fayemi’s wife arrested with N500m in Dubai after ex-gov wife petitioned police

A Nigerian female journalist, Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi, has vowed to tender the evidence in court that the wife of the Ekiti State former governor, Bisi Fayemi was arrested with stolen N500 million in Dubai.

Abimbola disclosed on her Facebook page after Bisi Fayemi, wife of the former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi petitioned the police, asking that the woman should be investigated.

Newsflash Nigeria had earlier reported that  Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi, had raised the alarm over the threat of her life by the former governor of Ekiti State Dr Kayode Fayemi and his wife Bisi Fayemi.

Abimbola, who is an indigene of Iyin Ekiti wrote a petition to Amnesty International Nigeria, to help in granting protection to her life and family.

The Female journalist report alleges the wife of the former Ekiti State governor, Bisi Fayemi, was arrested in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates in 2018 for money laundering.

She said the case was covered up after she was arrested in Dubai and because they enjoyed immunity, while in office (2018-2022).

Abimbola said she received a phone call from one Mr Williams from the Department of State Security (DSS) on 15th November 2022, asking her to report in their office as regards a petition brought to their office by one Demola Obanise, Kayode Fayemi’s brother-in-law.

She said her mobile line is being tracked and trailed by hoodlums and hired thugs, too and she no longer feels safe in Ekiti.

The female journalist called on Amnesty International, to investigate these allegations, come to her aid and ensure that she and her family are protected against Kayode Fayemi, his wife Bisi Fayemi and Demola Obanise.

But, the former First Lady of Ekiti State petitioned the State Police Command demanding an investigation of a woman, Mrs Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi, whom she accused of cyberbullying, cyberstalking, criminal, incessant and unabated social media attacks against her person.

In the petition dated November 14 and addressed to the Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, through her lawyer, Mr Luke Ekene Mbam of Octodas Attorneys (Topmost Chambers), demanded a thorough investigation of Abimbola’s infractions, infringements and invasion of her privacy through nefarious, criminal, malicious and calculated posts capable of damaging her reputation.

Invoking the provisions of the Cyber Crimes Act 2015, Mrs Fayemi accused Abimbola of spreading malicious falsehood against her, adding that she had so far failed to prove the allegations.

According to her, she was left with no option but to petition the police to clear her name and protect her image and reputation.

It was reported that Abimbola had in several posts on her Facebook page accused Mrs Fayemi of shielding “family members” from arrest and prosecution for alleged sexual offences.

Abimbola is said to have also accused Mrs Fayemi of money laundering to the tune of N500 million in Dubai and stealing N710 million a few weeks after the inauguration of her husband as the state governor in 2018.

Responding to the petition in a post, Abimbola was quoted as saying, “Rest assured that I’m fine.

“I’m not moved a bit, because I can defend whatever I have written in court.

“She was arrested with N500 million Ekiti money in Dubai in 2018. The evidence will be tendered in court, I only await the CTC (Certified True Copies).”
