Fayose, Makinde knows fate as PDP holds South West congresses March 6
Kola Ologbondiyan revealed that the zonal congresses in the Southwest and other five geo-political zones will hold on Saturday, March 6, 2021.
Following the feud between the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose over the leadership control of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West zone, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party has approved the conduct of its zonal congresses.
It can be recalled that Makinde and Fayose has been in the news in the past months over the leader of the party in South west.
The battle, which has lingered for some months, had even recently seen the aides of the two engaging in a war of words on social media.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the party on Thursday approved the conduct of its zonal congresses in the six geo-political zones on Saturday, March 6, 2021.
In a statement released by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan, revealed that the zonal congresses in the Southwest and other five geo-political zones will hold on Saturday, March 6, 2021.
“By this, the party has slated the submission of nomination forms, including aspirants for National Ex-Officio for on or before February 25, 2021.
“Forms are to be submitted to the Directorate of Mobilization and Organizing.
“The party charges our leaders, members and teeming supporters to continue to work hard in the collective effort to rescue our nation from the current misrule”.
