Fayose flags off free health care programme, tags it “Ilera Ayo”

Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose on Thursday at the Ogoga of Ikere’s palace flagged off a free health care programme tagged Ilera Ayo. The programme is aimed at providing quality health care service to rural dwellers. The programme will see health workers including medical consultants visit Ikere, Ise, Ekiti South West, Emure and Efon Alaaye LGAs to offer free health care services within the next two weeks.

Governor Fayose who said quality health delivery, especially to those who cannot afford it is part of the reasons he was elected promised to ensure sustenance of the programme. He urged residents of Ekiti to capitalise on the opportunity to avail themselves quality health care.

“Come out for tests, come for free medical advice, coming for checks will help prevent escalation of ailments, early diagnosis of diseases will reduce damage to vital body organs, I urge you all to make use of this rare opportunity, it’s free of charge”, Mr. Fayose said.

The governor in his address also assured that patients with complications will be referred to specialist hospitals elsewhere to ensure there is a permanent cure for their ailments.

The Paramount ruler of Ikere Ekiti, Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti, HRM Oba Adejimi Adu in his remarks thanked governor Fayose for making Ikere-Ekiti the flag-off point for the programme. “Your Excellency Sir, I cannot thank you enough for your love for Ekiti generally and the people of Ikere-Ekiti in particular. Three times you made Ikere sons your deputy and now you are giving us the opportunity to have one of us as governor of this state, I can’t thank you enough. We are not going to take these kind gestures for granted, we’ll always support you”, Oba Adu said.

She monarch who charged residents of Ikere to take advantage of government’s free medical programme and attend to their health needs also called on Ikere residents who are yet to have their permanent voter’s card to do so as the card remains the tool with which the town’s dreams could be achieved.
