Fayemi’s wife pays hospital bills of Ekiti first babies of 2019
Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Mrs Bisi Fayemi, has welcomed the first babies of the year in the state and paid their hospital bills.
According to a statement on Tuesday by the Press Officer, Office of the Governor’s Wife, the first baby of the year, was a baby boy, born to Mr and Mrs Tope Akilo, at the Comprehensive Health Centre, Sharp Corner, Ido-Ekiti, at 12:04 on Tuesday morning.
She stated that monarch of Ido Ekiti, Olojudo, Oba Ilori Faboro, witnessed the hand over of the baby to Mrs Fayemi.
“The family of Adebayo Aderonke had the second baby of the year at the Okeyinmi Health Centre, Ado Ekiti, the baby is a female who weighed 2.8kg.
“The family of Temitayo and Kehinde Babalola were blessed with the third baby, who was delivered of at 12:09, weighing 2:65, at EKSUTH.
Others, whose hospital bills were settled by the governor’s wife included Afolalu Adeyinka Esther, N109,900: Adaramola Iyabo Linda, N 80,400: Adefola Bola, N104,660: Ayodele Temitayo, N139,600: and Akomolafe Titilayo.
The governor’s wife, who spoke while receiving the first babies, urged women in the state to desist from giving birth to their babies at home as such practice was dangerous and life-threatening.
She said,”Presenting these babies to the First lady of the state is a long-standing tradition.
“We are also saying wherever the people are the government will continue to take care of them and work for their best interest.
Traditionally, we go to the teaching hospitals to receive them, but this year we didn’t have them at the teaching hospital. Babies are blessings from God and nobody knows when they would arrive,” the governor’s wife said.
