Fayemi speaks on trending hashtag #SaveEKSU
Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, has finally spoken about the trending hashtag #SaveEksu, which has become a rallying point for students and other stakeholders in the Ekiti State University (EKSU) to vent their displeasures about issues affecting them.
On Saturday morning, the Students and the stakeholders in the Ekiti State University of Ado Ekiti (EKSU) have vented their displeasures about issues affecting the institution.
The students and the stakeholders of the institution were using hashtag #saveEksu for the most negative reasons and trending for about five hours on Twitter.
The students dropped reports of how their scripts and eventually, results go missing despite reading hard and sitting for the examinations.
They then demanded that the State Government does something to the issue at the Ekiti State University EKSU to save their education, dreams and plans for life.
See some students reactions below:
@SpurNationMedia, “What is happening in Eksu is a reflection of what’s happening in Nigeria as a whole. Power abuse, incompetence, lack of monitoring systems, corruption… And to think that some students will be threatened by the school authority for pulling this is so upsetting. #SaveEksu.
@thisisBOJ, “It is important that all parties play their role to the best of their ability. When students write exams it is important that their script are marked and results are out on time. But in EKSU particularly in recent times there as be heart breaking and unbelievable #SaveEksu.
@Peevizy, “Hug an Eksu student todaySleepy face

Omole said “Government would like to assure everyone that @ekitistategov is monitoring the development and engaging the authorities at the Ekiti State University to support them in addressing the issues comprehensively.
