Fayemi Returns 8 Out Of 16 Local Govt Suspended PDP Chairman

The Ekiti State House of Assembly in its sitting on Thursday, July 4, 2019 reinstated only eight (8) out of 16 local government chairmen who were suspended.

.Their reinstatement followed the adoption of the report of the House Committee on Public Petitions submitted by its Chairman, Hon. Adegoke Olajide.

The eight reinstated local governments Chairmen and officials were Ijero, Moba, Gbonyin, Ado and lrepodun/Ifelodun; others were Ikole, Ekiti South West, and Ekiti West.

Other eight councils chairmen and their officials were to remain suspended for further forensic investigations, they were; Oye, lse/Orun, Ekiti East, Ikere, Efon, Ido/Osi, Emure and llejemeje.

The Ekiti sixteen (16) Local Government Chairmen and officials were suspended by the Assembly in December last year on the allegation of gross misappropriation of over N4billion.

Presenting the report of its Committee, the Chairman of the House Committee on Public Petitions, Hon. Adegoke Olajide said the Chairman of the Ekiti State ALGON, Mr. Dapo Olagunju on behalf of others wrote a petitions appealing for reinstatement.

The House later adopted the report as working documents of the House and adjourned till 15th of this month.
