Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi has spoken on the issued of over 1000 workers sacked by the management of the Ekiti State University
Newsflash247 online news portal had reported that over 1000 workers of the Ekiti State University were sacked last year December with the management of the institution saying that ghost workers and others with records of misconduct were recommended for disengagement.
Also, the opposition party of the state, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has called Kayode Fayemi to reverse the sack of more than 1,000 Staff of the institution, saying only a wicked soul with no blood in his system will ask workers who were duly employed and had enjoyed promotion to go home at a time like this.
PDP said it was miffed that at a time when the PDP government of Oyo State was putting smile on the faces of her people, the APC government in Ekiti State had chosen to push her people into depression by sacking close to 4,000 workers within one year.
Fayemi in interaction during the monthly media programme “Meet Your Governor”on Sunday evening, which monitored by Newsflash247 online news portal saying about workers who were recently sacked by Ekiti State University.
Fayemi said he never dabble into the affair of the institution, adding that, the sacking of the workers was based on the recommendation in the white paper on the visitation panel.
He said that some of the workers were recalled after proved their cases beyond reasonable doubt.
He also, he reechoed his commitment at providing good leadership that will guarantee improved infrastructural development, industrial growth and job creation.
He said his adminstration will continue to intensify effort to create an enabling environment for business to thrive and improving the living standard of Ekiti people.
Dr. Fayemi pledged that massive investment, infrastructural development, access to portable water, qualitative health care delivery and creation of economic opportunities remains some of the key priorities of his administration.
The Governor, who promised to leave Ekiti better than he met it said Oja-oba market in Ado will be ready for use within the next six month.
Dr. Fayemi said his government was investing huge resources on vocational and technical education. He commended the effort of the Chairman Board for Technical Education, Pastor Kayode Babade for his mobilization drive to put technical and vocational school together in Ekiti to meet the international standard.
