Fayemi declares Thursday as work-free day for Ekiti schools over APC Guber primary
Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, has declared Thursday as a work-free day for public and private (primary and secondary schools) in the State ahead of the governorship primary election in the state.
Recall that the governorship primary of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti State will hold on Thursday, January 27 and the party adopted direct primaries (Option A4) mode to select the candidate to fly its flag in June 18 governorship election.
The party will be used both Primary and secondary school playgrounds as the venue of the exercises to select the candidate to fly its flag in June 18 governorship election.
About eight aspirants jostling for the APC governorship ticket. The aspirants include the National Assembly member, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele; former Minister of Works, Senator Dayo Adeyeye; House of Representatives member, Femi Bamisile; and former Secretary to Ekiti State Government, Biodun Oyebanji.

Others are former House of Representatives member, Bamidele Faparusi; former governorship aspirant, Kayode Ojo; aviation expert, Demola Popoola; and Olusola Afolabi.
But the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in the state announced that all public and private (primary and secondary schools) are to observe a work-free day on Thursday 27th January 2022.
The statement further reads that all heads of Schools are to ensure compliance.
