Ex-Osun Gov Oyinlola, Other leaders meet Fayose, back his candidate, Olafeso for PDP Vice chairman
Oyinlola was appointed head of a reconciliation committee by the Makinde-led faction and the committee was derided by the Fayose faction.
In a bid to quell the crisis rocking the Southwest caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, on Wednesday led some leaders of the party to meet with former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose.
Newsflash247 had earlier reported that the tussle for the leadership of the party in the zone between Governor Seyi Makinde and Fayose has polarised the South-West PDP apart.
According to the South-West Zonal Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP, Lere Olayinka, who posted on his Facebook Timeline and confirmed by our Newsflash247 correspondent that the meeting held at the Ibadan residence of Fayose include a former National Vice Chairman of the PDP in the region, Dr Eddy Olafeso, and a former member, Board of Trustees of the PDP, Dr Saka Balogun.
Other PDP leaders who were part of the meeting were Femi Babalola, Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeniyan; Rev Bunmi Jenyo, Zone Secretary, Daisi Akintan; Caretaker Committee member, Funmi Ogun; Ogun, Ekiti, Lagos and Osun States PDP chairmen, Dr Sikirulai Ogundele, Otunba Bisi Kolawole, Engr Adedeji Doherty and Hon Sunday Bisi.
Recall that Oyinlola was appointed head of a reconciliation committee by the Makinde-led faction and the committee was derided by the Fayose faction.
However, our correspondent gathered that the Wednesday meeting with Fayose was part of the reconciliatory assignment given to Oyinlola.
Newsflash247 gathered that the meeting affirmed Fayose candidate, Olafeso should be returned as the next National Vice Chairman of the PDP in the South-West.
They were said to have called on Makinde to support him.
