Ekiti Guber: We Don’t Have Governorship Candidate In Ekiti – Labour Party
The party National Chairman of Labour Party, Dr. Mike Omotosho advice INEC, workers and the Ekiti electorate not to allow themselves to be hoodwinked by the antics of political impostors.
The Labour party has categorically disown and condemn recent posturing and proclamations by some politicians in Ekiti State, claiming they are the candidates of the party in the forthcoming governorship elections in the state.
Addressing newsmen at a press conference in Abuja the National Chairman of the Party Dr. Mike Omotosho said Labour party has no candidate in the July 14,2018 governorship election in Ekiti State. He urged Ekiti electorate should not allow themselves to be hoodwinked by the antics of political impostors.
Omotosho said all Political aspirants in the Labour party are requested to deal only with the screening Committee of the party, he included that on no account should anyone engage in any form of financial transaction on issues related with the Labour party with the party former National chairman A.A. Salam and the party former secretary of the party Mr. Julius Abure.
Omotosho also reject plans by the immediate past governor of Ondo State Dr Olusegun Mimiko to return to the labour party, stating that the Nigeria Labour Congress is fully aware of plans by Dr. Mimiko to destabilize the current gains being made by workers to reclaim and reposition the party, he said it is obvious that the sole purpose of Dr . Mimiko’s re -approach to the Labour party is to use the party to lauder his sagging political image.
In the same vein the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress Dr. Ayuba Wabba said while the leadership of the congress continue to work to rebuild the Labour party especially through the instrumentality
It will be recall that Dr. Mimiko abandoned the party for the people Democratic party a few days to the party’s October 2015 National convention.
