The British Government has revealed the role it would play during the governorship election in Ekiti come this weekend.
The British High Commission to Nigeria, Paul Arkwright, who spoke with newsmen yesterday with regard to the poll, reiterated the interest of the British Government in Nigeria’s democracy.
Arkwright said the Commission would be sending its observers to monitor the election.
He said, “The British High Commission will be sending a team there to observe the election and to ensure that they go smoothly.
“To ensure that INEC can do its job, that the security forces do their job and basically, to ensure that the people of Ekiti State are allowed to freely express their opinion, to vote along with their conscience and to be able to do so in a peaceful manner.”
