Ekiti Election: Fayemi Demoted Teachers Because They Were Incompetent – Fayemi’s Aide
One of the Media Aides to Dr Kayode Fayemi, the APC governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Maxwell Olusegun Adegbenro has said that the School Principals and Vice Principals that were demoted to classroom teachers when Fayemi was governor were demoted because they failed examinations and were producing half-baked pupils.
Adegbenro, who was Fayemi’s Special Assistant on New Media when he was governor said the incompetence of the teachers was responsible for the poor performance of the pupils in the 2014 WAEC and NECO examinations.
The media aide was responding to a comment by one Deji Falua on his Facebook thread urging that Fayemi should be judged on his previous performance.
Deji Falua had said: “Fayemi will no doubt be judged by demoted teachers, health workers who were deprived of their normal wages, the local contractors who were never patronized, Okada riders who’s means of livelihood is being threatened and the masses who hitherto have not seen the multi-billion naira flower project germinating and who were deceived by commissioning of uncompleted projects will surely judge sir.”
Replying, Olusegun Adegbenro said: “You are in serious denial. Teachers were demoted because they failed, producing half-baked pupils evident in the net performance of Ekiti pupils and student in 2014/2015.
“Health workers were not owed or short paid. ”
