Ekiti Election: APC Candidate, Fayemi Meets Buhari
Ahead of the July 14 gubernatorial election of Ekiti State, the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kayode Fayemi, on Tuesday met with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The close-door meeting took place inside the president’s office at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Fayemi, who recently quit Buhari’s cabinet as Minister of Mines and Steel Development, refused to address State House reporters on his mission to the Villa.
The APC candidate’s meeting with Buhari came a day after Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose had alleged plots to rig the election in favour of Fayemi.
The governor, in a statement he signed, listed INEC National Commissioner, Mrs. Amina Zakari; two Deputy Directors (ICT Dept), Mr. Paschal Uwaenwe and Mr. Abdulrazaq Agboola Yusuf as well as Director (Procurement Dept), Mr. Kenneth Ukeagu as the arrowheads of alleged rigging plot.
