Ekiti Election : Akeredolu Harbours Thugs In Ondo Government House – PDP

Ekiti State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has accused the governor of Ondo state, Olurotimi Akeredolu of housing thugs hired by the all progressive Congress for the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti state in Ondo state government house.

The thugs numbering about 1000 are presently been trained at a location very close to the government house in Akure while they are accommodated in different chalets in the government house with a daily stipend of 5000 Naira, the party disclosed.

In a statement by the state publicity secretary of PDP, Mr Jackson Adebayo on Sunday, the thugs were recruited from both Ondo and Kogi States to work with some security agents before and during the election to aid the APC rig the election.

PDP disclosed that some of the thugs are to be conscripted into the already trained fake mobile policemen that have been prepared earlier by the leadership of APC to disrupt election in some local government believe to be the stronghold of the PDP thereby the election will be cancelled to pave way for reruns.

Adebayo explained that the APC will now use the opportunity of the rerun to unleash terror in the area to prevent massive votes for the candidate of PDP so that the maintained figures of the party could be decimated.

PDP added that the thugs and the fake security agents are planned to be imported to Ekiti state via Igbara Oke to dodge the original security checkpoints on the direct route from Akure through Iju – Ikere road.

The Party further explained that the governor of Ondo state has made an arrangement for the backup of the thugs by his security convoy so that the identity of the thugs and their movement would be concealed to the extent it will look like the governor’s convoy.

Adebayo said that the coming of the Ondo state governor and the leaders of the thugs to Ekiti state twice in the recent time in government convoy through Igbara Oke road has further elucidated the revelation as its believe to be a rehearsal of what they want to do before and during the governorship election.
It’s very unfortunate that the governor of Ondo state could actually be working on how to destabilise Ekiti state after he was able to buy his way to the Alagbaka government house in Akure, PDP added.

The Party said the people of Ekiti will, however, tell the governor one way or the other that Ekiti state is not an extension of Ondo state, saying through the two States might have been together before, that would not confer on Governor Akeredolu to believe that the best thing for him is to conspire with the APC candidate in his plans to cause mayhem by harbouring thugs in his government house.
