Ekiti APC Guber Primary: 28 Aspirants agreed on a consensus candidate

Thirty-One (31) out of 33 aspirants governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Met at Midas Hotel, Ado Ekiti, the state capital on Sunday, May 6. The former governor of the state, Kayode Fayemi, and Opeyemi Bamidele, a former Commissioner of Information in Lagos state were absent at the meeting,

The aspirants are putting heads together on the way forward following the inconclusive primary election of Saturday, May 5.

The aspirants, who took the decision at the end of a meeting at Midas Hotel, Ado Ekiti, the state capital on Sunday, which is demanding a new primary election and also demanded another committee to preside the election.

The leadership of the party had delegated Tanko Al-Makura, governor of Nasarawa state, to chair the committee which organised Saturday’s primary but the aspirants demanded another committee other than the one presided over by the governor.

It was gathered that 28 out of the 31 aspirants attended the meeting are agreed on a consensus candidate to reduce the number of aspirants for the election before the May 14 deadline for submission of the party’s candidate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC.
