Ekiti 2022: SSG Oyebanji declares for the governorship race

The Secretary to Ekiti State Government, Biodun Oyebanji, has declared his intention to contest the governorship election, slated for June 18, 2022.

Oyebanji, popularly known as BAO declared on Sunday, December 5, at AB hall, Ado-Ekiti, the state capital under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Ikogosi born politician alleged backing by the wife of the governor, Bisi Fayemi, which is likely that the governor pendulum will switch to him.

The SSG who thanked his boss, Dr John Kayode Fayemi for giving him the opportunity to serve Ekiti land in his current position said his ambition to contest the APC governorship ticket is borne out of his interest to continue with the good work and legacy of His Excellency, Dr John Kayode Fayemi come 2022.

Mr Biodun Oyebanji implored his teeming supporters not to engage in politics of bitterness with anybody because all hands must be on deck to make his dream to govern Ekiti a reality.

He stated further that, having been involved in the system of governance in Ekiti state for 11 years out of his 25 years of its creation, he is well familiar with the people and in the know of what they need.

Mr Oyebanji added that he would be honest, transparent and carry everyone along in the scheme of governance if given the opportunity to serve as Ekiti governor come 2022.

Before the SSG address, one of Governor Fayemi’s prominent aides, Hon. Adunmo Galaxy has earlier said about the qualities of Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji that favoured him as the most qualified person to succeed JKF come 2022.

Hon. Adunmo in his address commended Dr John Kayode Fayemi for deeming fit to throw his weight behind the candidacy of Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji as his successor.

He furthered that, right choice has been made with Ekiti SSG because he is a homegrown politician that knows the people and who is well known by the people.

She equally called for the support of Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s aspiration come 2022.
