Ekiti 2022: PDP stakeholders asked Ex-deputy governor to contest for governorship

The former deputy governor said people are more disappointed and tired of APC led-admimistration in Ekiti and Nigeria.

The shareholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday, has asked the former deputy governor of Ekiti State, Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka to contest for the 2022 governorship race.

Eleka, who is the 2018 governorship candidate of the PDP and was the deputy governor during the second term of Ayodele Fayose administration.

In the meeting where Olusola Eleka holds all ward executives, local government party executives, past ward and local government executives and other prominent PDP leaders and stakeholders in Ikere Ekiti who concluded that it is high time Ikere stood with Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka to actualise his governorship aspiration come 2022.

In his response, Olusola thanked the stakeholders and called on leaders of influence across Ekiti State more particularly in his hometown, Ikere-Ekiti to embrace the spirit of unison as 2022 governorship approaches, adding that the All Progressive Congress (APC) has woefully failed to deliver dividends of democracy in all ramifications.

The former deputy governor said people are more disappointed and tired of APC led-admimistration in Ekiti and Nigeria.

In his words; “Going by every parameter of governance, the current APC-led governments in Ekiti and Nigeria have failed to meet up the standard of purposeful governance”

“Of course Ekiti is not doing well in education, infrastructural development, security and other sectors”

Addressing PDP stakeholders in Ikere, Eleka said it is important to reiterate that PDP as a political party is a family that cannot strive without a leader who should be a rallying point for all members of the party.

“We believe in the indefatigable leadership of His Excellency, Ayodele Fayose (Osoko) in Ekiti State and his good influence across Nigeria and we must either as individuals or collectively, respect our leaders regardless of interests”

Also, Chairman of the party in Ikere Local government, Hon. Asebiomo Sunday (Asebe) said it is imperative to further mobilize more people into the PDP in earnest and also appeal to all the aggrieved members to close ranks.

Special prayers were offered for peace and progress in Peoples Democratic Party, Ekiti State and Nigeria.
