Ekiti 2022: Fayose to plot South indigenes for Guber race – South Agenda Agitators allege
Ekiti Movement For Emancipation and Liberty, EMFEL, has raised alarm over a plot by former Governor Ayo Fayose to collaborate with fifth columnists to sabotage an agitation by the people of Ekiti south to produce the next Governor of the state in 2022.
Dr Makanjuola Ayenimo, the spokesperson for the group, alleged that there is a sinister plot being orchestrated by the former Governor to collaborate with willing indigenes from the south, particularly from Ekiti East and Ikere LGAs, to run a parallel gubernatorial claim to divide the votes of Ekiti south and scuttle the bright chance of the people to actualise the much-anticipated power shift in 2022.
Text of a statement that he signed reads;
“Our attention has been drawn to a devilish plot orchestrated by a former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, to use an unpatriotic indigene of Ekiti East and Ikere LGAs to cause division among the good people of Ekiti south to scuttle the agitation for the southern governorship in 2022.
It is no longer a secret that since the return of democracy in 1999, no single son or daughter from the southern part of our state has been elected to the office of Governor of Ekiti state.

While patriotic citizens of Ekiti south, with the solidarity of our brothers and sisters across other parts of the state, unanimously agreed to support their best product for the plum job of the state when a vacancy arises in 2022, former Governor Ayo Fayose is hellbent on sabotaging this divine agenda and has been shopping for treacherous elements to actualise his plot.
Though we are confident that Ekiti south indigenes are predominantly men and women of impeccable integrity, we can’t rule out the possibility of few treacherous characters and bad eggs that may exist within.
Therefore, we want to put the good people of Ekiti south on notice against that treacherous character that will raise their heads to involve themselves in the evil plot of Ayo Fayose.
We also use this medium to warn every indigene of Ekiti south to desist from towing the path of infamy by working against the interest of the people”.
