As the race for the 2022 Ekiti governorship election gathers momentum, one of the supporters of a governorship aspirant, Hon Opeyemi David Falegan, on Wednesday, has distributed petrol to commercial motorcycle riders in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital.

According to the organizer, Opeyemi David Falegan, said he organized the programme to support the former governor of the state, Engr Segun Oni.

The supply of free fuel took place at BUNTOP Petrol Station, Ori Ekiti Street, Ado Ekiti.

The scheme distributed N1,000 petrol to about 1,500 commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as ‘Okada’ riders.

In a chat with Newsflash Nigeria moments after, Falegan said: “The All Progressives Congress- led administration in the state has failed. APC must be voted out in 2022 for the state to move forward.

PDP chieftain said that his continuous multimillion naira Empowerment program in Ekiti will bring change of Power from the current All Progressives Congress (APC) to PDP come 2022.

Falegan made the declaration in Ado Ekiti after he was done with his empowerment program for the Market women, disabled Persons, distribution of petrol to 1500 Okada Riders in Ado, food and cash assistance to widows, as well as aged and the poor among others.

The PDP Chieftain explained that his Empowerment program was targeted at showing love to the people of the state irrespective of their political links, saying his Empowerment program was not differentiating any political party but basically for all Ekiti residents whether indigene or non-indegene.

Falegan alleged that the people of Ekiti were hypnotized to voting for the ruling APC  2018 poll in the state, saying the people have since realised the huge mistake and were ready to correct it in 2022 by voting en-mass for the PDP.

He said “We know PDP for a lot of development in the past. Most of the infrastructural and other manifestations of growth as well as development in the state are done by PDP.

“There is no town in Ekiti you will not find the imprints of the PDP when it was in saddle. I believe in 2022 election our antecedents will definitely speak for us”, he said.

One of his recently commissioned projects for the people in Ado-Ekiti.

Falegan expressed optimistism that PDP would form the next government, saying that the APC-led government in the state, “was more of a curse than blessing to Ekiti people having failed to meet their expectations. The people were hypnotised to make wrong choice in the 2018”.

He noted that PDP has not only emerged as a credible alternative but also priority of the masses having tested both parties and weighed their achievements on a sectoral basis.

He said that PDP remains the strongest party with large number of grassroots followership in spite of the fact that it was not in control of the government.

Falegan who added that Ekiti people are self-motivated and determined in their quest to effect a change of government in 2022, said that the newly found unity within the state chapter is an indication that PDP would return to power.

“Definitely, PDP are going to form the next government in 2022 because the people of Ekiti are yearning for positive change. Conducts an opinion poll about this administration you will know that people are completely tired.

Falegan during his recent visit to the Markets in Ado Ekiti to empower the market women and men.

“So, they want a credible alternative and PDP remains the best platform that can bring a new lease of life to the people by delivering all the basic goodies inherent democratic governance.

“Ekiti has come to realized now that PDP remain the most caring party that does not joke with their welfare. All the things I am doing and all my Empowerment programs has further demonstrated this, and I assure you, my Empowerment program will restore power to the PDP in Ekiti”. He added.

An aide to the Opeyemi David Falegan (ODF), Matanmi Ayokunle, who coordinated the distribution, said the gesture was to identify with the riders as important stakeholders in the state.
