Ekiti 2022: Akerele, Adewumi, other four women pick PDP governorship nomination form
About six women aspirants on Thursday, October 14, have obtained the nomination form ahead of the June 18, 2022 governorship election in Ekiti State.
The six female aspirants stormed the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) National Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday to obtain their form.
These six women making eight female governorship aspirants obtain the form under the platform of the PDP.
The six females that obtained the form includes; the former House of Assembly member during the second term of Ayodele Fayose administration, Hon. Princess Titilayo Owolabi Akerele, hails from Ikole Ekiti, in Ekiti North Senatorial District; the 2019 House of Representatives aspirant, Princess Adekemi Adewumi, hails from Efon Alaaye, in Ekiti Central Senatorial District; 2019 House of Assembly aspirant, Mrs Cecilia Ebiesuwa, hails from Emure Ekiti, in Ekiti South Senatorial District.
Others include Ms Adewumi Adesoye, the daughter of prominent Prince of Ado-Ekiti, Adewunmi Adegoke, Ekiti Central Senatorial District; Mrs Module Asaolu and Mrs Deborah Alo.
Newsflash Nigeria had earlier reported that the two female aspirants had obtained the form on Monday, October 11; a former Tutor General in Ekiti State, Chief (Mrs) Arogundade Oluwatoyin Anike and Hon (Mrs) Olumide-Ojo Olukemi Olubunmi.
Hon (Mrs) Olumide-Ojo Olukemi Olubunmi hails from Ifaki Ekiti in Ido-Osi local government area, Ekiti North Senatorial District while Chief (Mrs) Arogundade Oluwatoyin, former tutor General, hails from Okemesi Ekiti in Ekiti West local government of the state, Ekiti Central Senatorial District.
The six latest female aspirants making it fifteen aspirants obtaining the form.
The forms were sold at N21million made up of N1million for expression of interest and N20million for the nomination form.
Newsflash Nigeria gathered that female aspirants only paid N1m each for expression of interest.

Meanwhile, the sale of its expression of interest and nomination forms for the Ekiti governorship election to be close on Thursday, October 14 has been extended to Friday, October 22.
According to the party spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, said the last date for the submission of duly completed forms has also been extended from the earlier Friday, October 15, 2021, to Friday, October 29, 2021.
Consequently, the screening of aspirants for the governorship election primary has been scheduled to hold on Monday, November 8, 2021, at the National Secretariat, Abuja, while the screening appeals has been slated for Monday, November 29, 2021.
All aspirants, critical stakeholders and teeming members of our party, particularly in Ekiti State, are to be guided accordingly.
Newsflash Nigeria had reported that nine of the aspirants had obtained the forms. They are former governor of the state, Segun Oni; immediate past PDP State chairman, Bisi Kolawole ; Repositioning group candidate, Lateef Ajijola; the former General Manager of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB), Kayode Adaramodu; the national treasurer of the party, Wale Aribasala; 2018 PDP deputy governorship candidate, Deji Ogunsakin; a former Tutor General in Ekiti State, Chief (Mrs) Arogundade Oluwatoyin Anike; Hon (Mrs) Olumide-Ojo Olukemi Olubunmi and former Deputy Governor of the state, Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka.
Oni obtained the form on Wednesday, September 22 at the PDP National Headquarters in Abuja while Lateef Ajijola obtained their own on Thursday, September 23. Bisi Kolawole had obtained the form on Friday, September 24, Kayode Adaramodu also obtained their own form on Friday, September 30, Wale Aribisala obtained the form on Thursday, October 7 while Deji Ogunsakin Obtained their own for on Monday, October 11.
Others include; Chief (Mrs) Arogundade Oluwatoyin Anike and Hon (Mrs) Olumide-Ojo Olukemi Olubunmi both obtained their form on Monday, October 11 while Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka obtained the form on Wednesday, October 13.
The governorship primary election will take place on January 28, 2022.
