Ekiti 2018: PDP To Hold Ekiti Governorship Primary On May 8
The flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for this year’s governorship election in Ekiti State will be elected on May 8, 2018.
The date has been picked for the conduct of the party’s primary where the candidate will be elected by delegates at a yet-to-be-deter
The party’s proposed schedule of activities, which our reporter obtained yesterday, shows that PDP will begin the sale of its Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to governorship aspirants on April 8.
The commencement of expression of interest forms to aspirants is exactly one month to the shadow election.
After the conduct of the primary on May 8, hearing of appeals arising from the shadow poll will start on May 10 and end on May 13.
The electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has fixed July 14 as the date for the governorship election.
Voters in all 177 wards and 16 local government areas will go to the poll to elect a new governor. The delegates to vote in the election Include:
Governor of the state;
Deputy governor of the state;
All governorship aspirants obtain the form;
All House of Assembly members;
All elected LG Chairmen;
All elected ward Councillors;
All elected LG Vice Chairman;
Three delegates from each ward;
All-State Executive of the party;
All LG Party Executives;
Five Executive Party from each ward (Ward Chairman, Ward Vice Chairman, Ward Youth Leader, Ward Woman Leader and Ward Secretary);
Former Chairman of the LG Elected under the party;
Former Vice Chairman of the LG elected under the party;
Former leader (Speaker) of the LG elected under the party;
Former Speaker of the House of assembly;
The former governor of the state elected under the party;
Former Deputy governor of the state elected under the party;
Three elected Senator of the state;
All House of Representatives members;
Former Senator elected under the party;
Former House of Representatives member elected under the party;
All National Executive party of the state.
