Ekiti 2018: I won’t Contest The Governorship Race – Kayode Fayemi
A former governor of Ekiti State and current Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has said that he would not contest for July 14th governorship election.
There were rumours across the state that the former governor of the state, Kayode Fayemi will contest the coming governorship race under the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC. The posters were posted across the 16 local government area by his supporters.
Last week, the wife of the former Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi said her husband will contest the Ekiti governorship post. Bisi Fayemi announced her husband ambition when invited the All Progressive Congress (APC) women leaders and State executives on behalf of her husband, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi in Isan-Ekiti, his country home last week Saturday but the pendulum has change when the former governor takes research to all local government Area of the state that if win the primary, the general election will not favour him and avoid to be disgraced when another 16-0 will be repeated.
Dr. Kayode Fayemi has said that he would not contest for July 14th governorship election. He was quoted saying this on Saturday, March 31 when he hosted all the 177 Wards Executives of the All Progressive Congress, APC across the 16 local governments area of Ekiti State in his country hometown, Isan-Ekiti.
“I won’t contest the coming Ekiti governorship race, rather, l, and other leaders will support any of the aspirants that emerged as the winner on May 5th and they will ensure that all aspirants signed an undertaken that none of them will defect to other parties after the primaries”.
