Ekiti 2018: Former Deputy Governor, Abiodun Aluko Declare For Governorship Race
The former deputy governor of Ekiti State, Chief Abiodun Aluko has formally declared for governorship race on the platform of the Mega Party of Nigeria, MPN for ahead of the Ekiti State gubernatorial election fixed for July 14th this year.
He declared on Thursday, April 12 at the state party secretariat, Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
Aluko served under Fayose as deputy governor during his first tenure but he (Aluko) was impeached from office in controversial circumstances in November 2005 and later the state House of Assembly reversed the impeachment.
Chief Abiodun Aluko dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in last year August for accusing Governor Ayo Fayose of turning the party to his personal estate and harassing prominent leaders.
The ex-deputy governor, who was a PDP governorship aspirant in 2014, claimed that Fayose has been intimidating other aspirants like Senate Deputy Minority Whip, Senator Abiodun Olujimi and the former party’s national spokesman, Prince Dayo Adeyeye to drop their ambition for the 2018 gubernatorial poll.
