Ekiti 2018 : APC, PDP are bad options for Ekiti – Aluko
A former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Surveyor Abiodun Aluko, has said that both the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressive Congress, APC are bad options for Ekiti State in the July 14th, 2018 governorship election.
Aluko, who served as deputy governor under Governor Ayodele Fayose during his first term, said both APC and PDP as a party had failed the state by derailing from the dreams of its founding fathers that fought for the creation of the state.
Aluko spoke on Monday while addressing journalists in Ado-Ekiti on his governorship ambition in the Mega Party of Nigeria, MPN.
Aluko, who recently defected from the PDP to MPN, said he avoided the APC because it “will be like moving from fry pan to fire.”
“The only opportunity APC had to rule the state left the sour taste in the mouth of the people. The party is already overcrowded; Ekiti people are not ready for APC for now.”
“We are trying to savage PDP from collapsing but since the helmsman believes he wants to sink with PDP in Ekiti, I have no reason than to leave. I can’t be in a party that has no respect for the constitution. I’m not one who will see the truth and won’t be able to say it.”
“People are now talking about the third option, Mega party represents that. I never thought of APC as an option. I have all it takes to turn the fortunes of Ekiti state around. I have the competence and efficiency much better than what we are witnessing presently since 1999.”
Aluko boasted that Ekiti had people that could manage the economy, human capital and natural resources of the state.
“What we are witnessing today is not the dream of the founding father. I have set up a 60-man committee to prepare a blueprint for the incoming administration to cover the areas of good governance, agriculture, qualitative education and job creation among others.”
