Agboola Ben has emerged the standard bearer of Alliance for Democracy (AD) in the July 14, 2018, Governorship Election in Ekiti State.
He has promised to reenact good performances of the party as witnessed in 1999.
Agboola who hinted this shortly after he emerged as the party’s candidate in Ado-Ekiti also promised to diversify the state’s economy through integrated agriculture.
Three other governorship aspirants stepped down for him to emerge in a peaceful exercise supervise by the party’s national officials and that of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He described AD as the most consistent party since the nation’s return to democratic rule in 1999.
“This is the party of leaders in Yoruba, what is today known as Egbe Afenifere.
“When you look at the history of political parties in Nigeria since 1999, you will discover that AD stands out. We have been consistent and that is the time Nigeria probably enjoyed true dividends of democracy,” he said.
Highlighting other areas of interest, the politician said the health care sector would be revitalized to meet the current challenges.
“Research has shown that most mortality occurs during surgical operation. So our plan is to introduce Information Communication and Technology (ICT) into Health Sector,” he added,
On security, Agboola explained that his government would introduce Community Policing as against State Policing.
