Edo Poll: Tragedy as Many APC Chieftains feared dead in auto crash; party suspends campaign

There is tragedy on Tuesday morning as many of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains and supporters in Edo State have lost their lives following an auto crash close to Oluku Junction, near Benin on Benin-Lagos Road.

Newsflash247 gathered the report that a trailer ran into the travelling campaign entourage of top chieftains of the APC, which it said led to the loss of lives.

Also, the two security personnel attached to the campaign team of the Edo State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu were feared dead.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo has suspended its campaign following an auto crash which claimed many party chieftains and supporters.

Its Governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, was billed to campaign on Tuesday at Usen, Ovia Southwest Local Government Area.

But he called it off in honour of the deceased.

Edo APC, through chairman of its Media Campaign Council, Prince John Mayaki, disclosed before Oluku junction, a trailer ran into the travelling campaign entourage of top chieftains of the APC, which it said led to the loss of lives.

It condoled with the families of the victims, stressing they were not alone in their grief.

It promised to do everything within its powers to ameliorate their grief.

While reaching out to families of the policemen involved in the accident, it assured that it would never forget their supreme sacrifice.

Edo APC called on everyone to pray for souls of dead and against the recurrence of such tragedy.
