Drama in Oyo as PDP members ask Wike, other G-5 governors to pronounce Atiku as Presidential candidate

There was a drama at the ancient Mapo Hall of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital where Governor Seyi Makinde declared his intention to run for a second term in office.

Thousands of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have asked Governor Nyesom Wike to stop his speech except for continuous shouting of Atiku Abubakar for the presidency.

The aggrieved five governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also known as G5 have arrived at the ancient Mapo hall in Ibadan, to flag off the re-election campaign of one of their members, Seyi Makinde.

Other members of the G5 led by Nyesom Wike of Rivers State are Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu; Benue State, Samuel Ortom and Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

The G5 arrived at the venue of the campaign flag-off at exactly 1 pm.

Aside from asking the mammoth crowd to vote for Governor Seyi Makinde and other PDP candidates for elections slated for February 25 and March 11, 2023, Governor Nyesom Wike was said to have told the PDP supporters to vote for them all except the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

This pronouncement triggered PDP staunch supporters and Atiku’s loyalists to shout Wike over his unpleasant comment and remark against Atiku.

In a viral video trending like wildfire, those supporters who thronged the venue of the declaration could not allow Governor Nyesom Wike to have full concentration on his speech except for continuous shouting of Atiku for the presidency.

It would be recalled that the G-5 Governors led by Wike had distanced from the endorsement of Atiku’s candidature for the presidency, the sequel to his failure to respect the gentlemen’s agreement signed while going for the national convention of the party.
