The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has recently exported Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to Cameroon, Ghana, Angola, and South Africa.
Devakumar Edwin, Vice President of Oil and Gas at Dangote Industries Limited, highlighted that the refinery’s products adhere to international standards and have begun making a significant impact globally. He noted that diesel has been distributed worldwide, and jet fuel is being extensively exported to European markets.
These developments were shared during a visit from a Japanese business delegation led by Japan’s Ambassador-designate to Nigeria, Suzuki Hideo. The delegation expressed admiration for the refinery’s scale and technological sophistication, recognizing it as a testament to Nigeria’s industrial progress.
Takashi Oku, Managing Director of the Japan External Trade Organisation, remarked on the facility’s grandeur and Nigeria’s technological advancements, expressing interest in potential collaborations with Nigerian enterprises, particularly the Dangote Refinery.
The Dangote Refinery, situated in Lagos, is the world’s largest single-train refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day. Its operations are anticipated to significantly influence the trading dynamics of refined products within the Atlantic basin.
