Kano State government on Friday, May 1, has announced 80 new cases of Covid-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus and three deaths in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the state to 219 and 3 deaths.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), who made the announcement on Thursday night, on its official Twitter account.
Newsflash247 gathered the report that Kano State recorded 118 Coronavirus cases in two days.
According to data obtained from the NCDC, the state recorded 38 cases on Wednesday and 80 on Thursday.
The NCDC also said the state had recorded a total of Kano 219 cases with three deaths.
The increase in cases came three days after COVID-19 tests resumed in the state.
Since Nigeria recorded its index case on February 27, Kano has discharged no patient, Newsflash247 reports.
The NCDC said Kano’s new 80 COVID-19 cases were part of the 204 infections recorded in the country on Thursday.
The Newsflash247 gathered the report that 71 per cent of the COVID-19 cases in Nigeria were recorded in Lagos, Abuja and Kano.
Lagos has the highest cases of COVID-19 with 976 infections followed by Kano, which has 219 cases and Abuja with 178 cases.

On the 30th of April 2020, 204 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria. Till date, 1932 cases have been confirmed, 319 cases have been discharged and 58 deaths have been recorded in Nigeria.
