Following the Governor Kayode Fayemi’s directive to lockdown the Ekiti State for two weeks in order to battle the spread of Covid-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus, the Igbekeleoluwa Foundation, on Saturday, April 11, has donated the food items to the Ikere Local government area of the Ekiti state.
The donation is to compliment the efforts of the state government in combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The food items worth two hundred thousand Naira (N200,000) received by Ikere Council Chairman, Hon Femi Ayodele in order to help cushion the effect of stay-at-home order by the State Government caused by Coronavirus.
The Foundation also gives about three hundred thousand Naira (N300,000) to 100 poor households.
The foundation also donated the food items includes; Bags of Rice, 30 Packs of Noodles, 30 bags of Kings vegetable oil, Sugar, Garri among others, to School of Blind, located at Oke- Osun area in Ikere Ekiti.
In a statement by the Chairman of the foundation, Engr Igbekele Ayodele, the foundation expressed empathy over the pandemic disease and commended Governor Kayode Fayemi and Ikere council Chairman’s efforts in tackling it.
The foundation said the decision to donate the food items to Ikere vulnerable citizens to help cushion the effect of the lockdown on Nigerians.
The foundation has joined the growing list of Corporate Nigerians that have risen to the challenge of making substantial contributions to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak.
It also advises other organisation in the town to assist the state government over the challenge of making substantial contributions to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak.
The Ikere Council Chairman, Femi Ayodele thanked the foundation for helping the state government and Ikere for giving the food items to vulnerable citizens to help cushion the effect of the lockdown during the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Igbekeleoluwa Foundation is non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Ikere Ekiti, located at Eyesorun Complex, in which help the less privileged in the town.
According to the Director General of the foundation, Mr Taiwo Arowosegbe said the foundation has given at least eight students in the town for scholarship for sponsoring to the University across the country and sponsored best WAEC students of the Annunciation Schools, Ikere Ekiti to the University.
He said the foundation also gives the zero percent loans to all citizens in the town and environs, trade accusations and empowerment to all fresh graduates in the town.
Other members of the foundation include; Eyitope Ayodele, Financial director; Ojuolape Owolabi, Organising Secretary; Olugbenga Esho, Director of Operation; and Emmanuel Amuda, Public Relation Officer.
