The court of Appeal has struck out a motion brought by the embattled suspended Chief Justice Of Nigeria, CJN, Walter Onnoghen seeking for a stay of action in his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT.
Newsflash247 gathered that the Court of Appeal in Abuja rejected the request of Onnoghen to stay proceedings in the charge pending against him Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
A three-man panel, led by Justice Abdul Aboki, in a ruling, dismissed the application Onnoghen filed to that effect.
The court said, in view of the provision of Section 306 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA), it lacked the power to stay proceedings in criminal cases.
