Corruption runs in PDP’s DNA as APC blows hot over failed $460m CCTV contract

The All Progressives Congress, APC has blasted the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP over the failed Abuja Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) contract.

According to the Daily Trust who reported that the ruling party said that the recent disclosure by the finance minister, Zainab Ahmed, that the current administration continues to service a $460 million loan taken from China to fund a phoney contract was a stark reminder that the former ruling party failed Nigerians.

It was gathered that the statement was made by the national publicity secretary of APC, Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, in a press release issued on Saturday, October 26, in Abuja, adding that the fraudulent CCTV contract was awarded in August 2010.

APC spokesman urged citizens to be wary of whatever promises PDP is making ahead of the ballots in both Bayelsa and Kogi, said: “a leopard cannot change its spots.”

He said since profligacy and corruption is in PDP’s DNA, Nigerians must strive to elect progressive governments at all levels to achieve a better Nigeria.

The APC chieftain also noted that as the governorship elections hold in Bayelsa and Kogi states, citizens must not fall prey to the “rapacious PDP” again.

He urged Nigerians to continue its support for the President Muhammadu Buhari administration’s campaign to end profligacy and restore probity, efficiency, and transparency in our national life.

Newsflash247 reported that the federal government spent huge sums of money servicing a $460 million loan for the Abuja CCTV camera project which never worked.

It was reported that the discovery was made by the chairman of the committee on finance of the House, James Faleke, at a budget defence session in Abuja.

Faleke had lamented that each time Nigeria took a loan from China, it is the Chinese that would implement the project bringing their their equipment, personnel and the goods without having value for the money spent on the CCTV.
