Continue Crying And Wasting Time over over Sacking of 21 Agency Heads – Wike Tells Abuja Protesters

The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said that he is not bothered by the protests and tears of some staff of the FCT Administration over his decision to sack 21 directors and heads of government-owned companies.

He said that his action was based on the need to do the right thing in the nation’s capital and that no sentiments or emotions would be considered.

Wike was reacting to a viral video that showed some staff of Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company (AUMTCO) crying and protesting over the removal of the company’s managing director, Najeeb Abdulsalam. Abdulsalam was among the 21 heads of parastatals, agencies, and companies of the FCT Administration that were sacked by the minister a few days ago.

Wike told reporters in Abuja that he was not impressed by the performance of the sacked officials and that he expected them to deliver better services to the residents of the FCT.

He said that he was particularly dissatisfied with the state of the mass transit buses in Abuja and questioned why there were not enough buses on the roads.

He said that he was not afraid of losing his position as a minister and that he was ready to face any consequences for his actions.

He said that he was only interested in doing what was best for the people and that he would not be swayed by any video or cry. He said that he hoped that the new appointees would do a better job than their predecessors.
