Confusion over reported death of Abia Rep member

There was confusion on Monday over the reported death of a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ossy Prestige, in a German hospital.

Prestige (APGA, Abia) has been in hospital receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment since October 2020.

But family sources quoted the wife as saying that the lawmaker was in an intensive care unit in the hospital as at Sunday but could not confirm the reported death.

The source said: “Not true. My committee clerk just spoke with his wife who confirmed that he is in ICU. Just called her, she said he is getting better but still not responding to his Wattsapp call.”

Another source quoted a staff of his office in Abba as saying the lawmaker was still alive but undergoing treatment for cancer.

House Spokesman, Hon. Benjamin Kalu did not pick his calls at the time of this report.
