COIVD-19 Update: Nigeria records 587 new cases as toll rises to 17,735

Nigeria on Wednesday night, June 17, has recorded 587 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 17,735 and 469 deaths.

The announcement was made on Wednesday night by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, in a tweet via its official Twitter account.

The agency also said that fourteen (14) deaths from Coronavirus-related complications in the country, but the number of fatalities rise to 469.

NCDC also revealed that total numbers of 5967 patients were discharged.

According to the agency, Lagos recorded 155 cases, while Edo followed with 75. FCT recorded 67 cases, 65 in Rivers, 56 in Oyo, 50 in Delta, 25 in Bayelsa, 18 in Plateau, 18 in Kaduna, 17 in Enugu.

NCDC also further revealed that 12 cases each were recorded in Borno and Ogun States, 7 in Ondo, 4 in Kwara while 2 cases each recorded in Kano and Gombe States. One case each recorded in Sokoto and Kebbi States.
