Chef Dammy Cooks for Over 100 Hours, Smashes Hilda Baci’s Cook-a-thon Record

A Nigerian chef, Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, has achieved a remarkable feat by breaking the cook-a-thon record previously held by Hilda Baci. Chef Dammy is cooking non-stop for 120 hours, aiming to surpass Hilda Baci’s 100 hours of marathon cooking.

Chef Dammy started her culinary challenge on June 8, 2023, at an apartment in Ilupeju-Ekiti, Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State. She was representing Spirit Word Global Mission, a church that sponsored her attempt. She cooked various dishes ranging from local to continental cuisines, showcasing her skills and creativity.

She shared her joy and gratitude on her official Instagram page after completing 100 hours of cooking, where she wrote: “Cheers to 100hrs. It has been God. Thank you Jesus.” She is still cooking and will complete her 120 hours of non-stop cooking on June 13, 2023, amid cheers and applause from her supporters and well-wishers.

Chef Dammy’s record-breaking feat is yet to be confirmed by the Guinness World Records, but she has already received commendations and congratulations from many Nigerians, including celebrities and public figures.

Chef Dammy is a 300-level Mass Communication student at the Federal University of Oye Ekiti. She is also a poet, songwriter and editor. She was born in Ekiti State and is passionate about cooking and learning new things.

She was inspired to challenge the cook-a-thon record set by Hilda Baci in May 2023. Hilda Baci is a Nigerian chef who cooked for 100 hours in Lagos, beating the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes set by Indian chef Lata Tondon in 2019. Hilda Baci is still awaiting the confirmation of her record by the Guinness World Records.

Chef Dammy has expressed her hope that her record will inspire other young Nigerians to pursue their dreams and talents. She has also thanked her church, her family, her friends and her fans for their support and prayers throughout her journey. She has also dedicated her record to God, who gave her the strength and grace to achieve it.
