As President Muhammadu Buhari would be visiting Imo State on Thursday, some “old roads” to be commissioned in Owerri are allegedly being sprayed with black paint by Governor Hope Uzodinma.
The viral pictures already circulating on social media shows the painting of the old roads in Owerri ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Imo on Thursday, September 9th, 2021.
The pictures showing the spraying of ‘Colas A Emulsion’ on the surface of the binding course before laying of the wearing course Asphalt pavement.
Though the main essence for spraying this emulsion is to serve as a binder between the existing course.
Meanwhile, Newsflash Nigeria gathered that the road seen on social media is the road along Naze/Poly-Nekede. And the road has been painted by Governor Hope Uzodinma a month ago.
The road built during the administration of late Samuel Onunaka Mbakwe has undergone series of repairs by succeeding administrations in the state.
Before the new painting by Uzodimma, the administrations of Senator Rochas Okorocha and Governor Emeka Ihedioha had awarded a number of contract works for the rehabilitation of the road.
However, as at the time of filing this report, it is not yet cleared if maybe the Naze/Poly-Nekede road would be included in the number of projects to be commissioned on Thursday during the president’s visit.
