Buhari’s Minister swindled by internet fraudster

The minister of works and housing, Raji Fashola, has been swindled by an internet fraudster, Malik Wakili.

However, Wakili has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC after he squeezed the sum of N3.1 million from the minister.

According to PM News report, the suspect is to be arraigned before Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke.

Recall that Fashola had said that Nigerian roads were not as bad as most people said they were.

According to the minister, the condition of Nigerian roads are merely being exaggerated by the citizens.

“I know that this is going to be your headline, but the roads are not that bad,” the minister claimed.

Fashola stated this when he spoke with journalists after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held on Wednesday, November 6, and chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

According to the minister, the FEC approved the construction of Bida-Sachi-Nupeko road. It also approved the Nupeko-Patigi bridge across River Niger and linking Nupeko and Patigi in Niger and Kwara states.

The contract sum is put at N58.488 billion. The minister noted that contract was earlier awarded in 2013 but was terminated for non-performance, re-valuated and awarded again.

“It didn’t have a bridge then so we have added the bridge now and approved for N58.488 billion and is expected to take 30 months to complete,” Fashola said.
