Buhari Won’t Get 50% Of Votes In Bauchi – APC Lawmaker
A member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Aminu Tukur, has vowed that President Muhammadu Buhari will not get up to 50 per cent of the votes in the state in next month’s presidential election.
Tukur said that for supporting the re-election bid of Governor Mohammed Abubabakar, Buhari would not receive from the people the kind of support he had been enjoying from the state.
Tukur, who represents Lere/Bula Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, said, “Buhari cannot decide the fate of the people of Bauchi State, if he had 90 per cent supporters in 2015, this time around, he has less than 50 per cent.
“By raising the hands of Governor Mohammed Abubabakar, he (Buhari) defeated himself. Even the President will definitely not find it easy in Bauchi State this time around. I am one of those that will not vote for him again.”
The lawmaker further accused the state government of allegedly failing to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
Tukur said,
“The present government in Bauchi State is a failure; we have never had a
government that is so loose, corrupt and inept in the way it handles
things like this time around. A government that has served for more than
three years and seven months has no N50m worth of project in any local
government area of the state, despite the huge money that accrues to the
state.”
