Rabi’u Kwankwaso, a senator representing Kano central and Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano state, have been summoned to the presidential villa in Abuja over the feud between the two of them.
Ganduje was Kwankwaso’s deputy all through the eight years he presided over Kano.
However, both men fell apart shortly before Kwankwaso handed over to his successor.
Apparently, to test their popularity, both men had fixed rallies for Tuesday, sparking fears of an outbreak of violence in the state. But the senator has since called off his.
On Monday, the governor, accompanied by two serving senators and two members of the house of representatives from the state, met with Abba Kyari, chief of staff to the president.
Ganduje, however, declined to speak with state house correspondents after the meeting.
Kwankwaso is also expected to meet with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo at the presidential villa later in the day.
