Buhari sends powerful message to Obasanjo
Nigerian’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, March 4, has congratulated the former President, Olusegun Obasanjo as he will clocks 83 years tomorrow, on March 5, 2020.
In a commendation letter released on Wednesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, describing him as “a life of courage, dedication and service to Nigeria, Africa, and humanity in general.
“President Buhari joins family members, friends and associates of the former president in celebrating the milestone, adding that Chief Obasanjo’s commitment to Nigerian nationhood remains outstanding and commendable, while also underscoring his sacrifices for the continent, including standing up for democracy in many countries.
“As the former president celebrates the auspicious occasion, President Buhari prays that the almighty God will grant him longer life, good health and strength to keep serving the nation and the continent”.
Meanwhile, the former African Presidents would be at the Olusegun Obasanjo presidential library international conference centre in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, for the 83rd birthday of Chief Obasanjo.
It was reported that the former Nigerian leader would be 83 years on Thursday, March 5, and a series of activities have been organised by the Centre for Human Security and Dialogue (CHSD), including keynote addresses by leaders in the continent.
At a press conference to announce the events preceding the day of the celebration, Professor Peter Okebukola, the director of CHSD also announced that there would be a presentation of the book ‘The Asian Aspiration’ which was authored by Greg Mills, Obasanjo, and others.
