According to the Nigerian Tribune, Obasanjo was accompanied on the visit by a former governor of Osun State, Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
It was gathered that both Obasanjo and Buhari held a 40-minute private meeting in a separate room after courtesies and pleasantries were exchanged in the general area of the house.
Although details of the meeting were still sketchy as of the time of filing this report, the meeting was “likely on the developments in the country.”
Buhari, who was said to have expressed gratitude for the visit, also told Oyinlola that: “Excellency, you are looking really fine” with both Obasanjo and Oyinlola reportedly replying that they were happy to see that he (Buhari) was looking fine too.
It could be recalled that last week, seven governors were in the Abuja House to see Buhari and wish him well. The governors were Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), Kashim Shetima (Borno), Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano) and Samuel Ortom (Benue).
Before this, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Odigie-Oyegun, led some ministers and about four governors of the party to visit the president with one of the governors, telling reporters that Buhari would return when his doctors said so.
