Buhari Decorates New Police IG With New Rank
President Muhammadu Buhari has named Mohammed Adamu as acting inspector-general of police (IGP). Buhari announced Adamu’s appointment at a ceremony in Aso Rock and decorated him with a new rank.
The acting IGP succeeds Ibrahim Idris who retired after clocking the mandatory 35 years in service.
Buhari decorated him with the new rank during his meeting with the outgoing Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris and Adamu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Mohammed had served as the Commissioner of Police in Enugu State.
He was one-time director of peacekeeping operations of the Force.
He had been the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone Five, in Benin, Edo State.
Mohammed was also a directing staff member at the National Institute of policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, near Jos, Plateau State.
