Bride Slaps Mother-in-Law in Furious Reception as Groom Files for Divorce 2 Days after Wedding
Weddings are supposed to be joyous occasions, but for one couple in Nigeria, their big day turned into a nightmare. The groom filed for divorce just two days after tying the knot, citing his wife’s disrespectful behavior towards his mother.
According to Abdullah A Abdullah, a Nigerian zoologist who shared the story on social media, the incident happened at the wedding reception. He claimed that it was a true story and asked for advice from netizens.
He explained that the trouble started when a couple from the groom’s mother’s side arrived at the venue when the food was already finished. The only food left was a portion that the bride had reserved for her parents.
The mother-in-law approached the bride and whispered to her, asking if she could give some of the food to the couple as a gesture of hospitality. The bride refused, saying that the food was for her parents only.
The mother-in-law then tried to take some food herself with a plate, but the bride snatched it back and poured it into the cooler. This angered the mother-in-law, who slapped the bride. The bride retaliated by slapping her back.
The groom learned about what happened and decided not to make a scene at the reception.
However, he was so furious that he filed for divorce two days later. Abdullah said that the divorce case is still ongoing and that the groom has ignored his mother’s pleas to forgive his wife and move on.
